Month of Ministry: Random Acts of Kindness
Dear Hearts and Gentle People of WACC,
During this year’s Month of Ministry we are focusing on spreading God’s love from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth. We can put this in action by reaching out to our friends and to strangers. When I think of doing this, I can’t help but think of those amazing Orb-weaver spiders that are everywhere this time of year. Their webs are wonderfully made and have a perfect center with the silken pathways reaching out in every direction and circling round and round in a classic web. Picture yourself as the spider on the doorstep at the center of the web reaching out and watching your good deeds slide along those tiny roadways in an ever-expanding circle touching more and more lives. Often those touched continue along the web touching others until the web is full. That is how kind deeds work. Every act—a kind note, thoughtful email, friendly text or phone call, extra-large tip, helping hand, extra patience, and an understanding smile for the weary worker—brightens someone’s day. A simple “Thank you” or “God bless you” can speak to someone’s heart. Each one of those kindnesses fills our web and makes it shine as if illumined by the morning sun. This week, let our ministry find us being busy spiders weaving a web of kindness and love through the world from our doorsteps.
Love and blessings,
Chris Baumgartner
