Walking the Labyrinth
The WACC Labyrinth is now set up and ready for anyone to walk as part of their spiritual experience and growth. It is in the Youth Room across the hall from the Gibbens Room. The Labyrinth is available for anyone to use Monday through Friday between 10am and 2pm, while the church is open. We do ask that you start your walk no later than 1:30pm to finish before 2pm when Lainey leaves for the day. We have a CD player set up to provide meditative background music while walking. An Alter, a tabletop finger labyrinth, and other items are available for use to add to the spiritual experience or for those with mobility issues. Feel free to take a fabric finger labyrinth to carry with you for use anytime.
The Labyrinth is a spiritual conduit for prayer, meditation, contemplation, and/or release of stress. It may bring comfort; help create a God connection or give clarity. A Labyrinth walk is a personal journey for each participant. At times, the peace the Labyrinth brings may not be immediate and can last for several days. It may take more than one walk to learn to calm the mind and let the walk soothe the soul.
Start at the opening on the outside ring and proceed on the path to the center. Time may be spent in the center in prayer, meditation, or reflection. When ready, walk the same path back to the start. Leave shoes on if so inclined.
If alternate times are needed or to schedule a group walk, call Megan Rowe to make arrangements.
