Dear Friends,

Several weeks ago, I spoke with Pastor Nathan and offered to teach a short-term Bible study course during Lent entitled, Road to Coronation. He accepted my offer.

Road to Coronation has six units:

  • Unit 1 Royal Background—A record of Kingship in Israel
  • Unit 2 Royal Beginnings—Jesus’ Royal birth to first sermon
  • Unit 3 Royalty in Action
  • Unit 4 Royalty in the Holy City
  • Unit 5 Royal Coronation narratives in Mark, Matthew, and Luke
  • Unit 6 Royal Coronation narrative in John
  • The six-week course will begin after the First Sunday in Lent, with two attendance options:

Monday evenings: March 11-April 8, 6:30-8 p.m. (The first class will begin at 5:45 p.m. with a Lenten supper of soup, bread, and water. Those wishing to provide a similar meal for an upcoming session are asked to contact the church office.)

Tuesday mornings: March 12-April 16, 10-11:30 a.m. (The first class will be followed by a Lenten lunch of soup, bread, and water. Those wishing to provide a similar meal for an upcoming session are asked to contact the church office.) The church will purchase the manuals for this class ($7/copy); participants will be asked to respond at the course’s end with an offering to “pay it forward” for manuals for another class later in the year.
