2022 Theme: Seeking God’s Future
The Stewardship Committee and I are filled with anticipation about Consecration Day, November 21, 2021, at 9:30a.m. With joy, I write to encourage your presence and participation in Seeking God’s Future.
Before this day, will you join me in reflecting on God’s manifold gifts and myriad blessings? Here are ideas that can ignite our imaginations: Walk the labyrinth; pray for WACC; and, ponder anew how you contribute. Together with God’s help, let us be bold and daring Disciples of Christ, committed to Seeking God’s Future.
Our Stewardship Committee developed this website that includes videos from church leaders.
On Consecration Sunday, we will offer our pledge commitment cards for 2022 as part of our worship. If you can’t be with us in-person, we are glad to receive your pledge commitment online, by mail, or in-person at the church office.
On May 23, 2021, Pentecost Sunday, we resumed in-person worship in our sanctuary. For me, the anticipation of that day grew stronger as the day drew near. That morning, I turned into an already filled parking lot. I entered the building with friends I had not seen in 62 weeks. We recognized each other, even with masks. Entering the sanctuary brought an explosion of emotion, and minutes later, worship began. What a thrill to be in this holy place that’s full of tradition, hope, love, peace, and joy. As we stood and sang the opening hymn, it was difficult to form the words with my voice failing me and my eyes filled with tears of gladness. Oh Lord, what a morning! Remembering that day inspires me to continue Seeking God’s Future.
This year’s Consecration Day will be a first as we celebrate in-person and online. We have forged a path beyond our church’s brick walls to include Washington, D.C., California, Texas, Minnesota, Arkansas, North Carolina, and ever-growing points in-between. People who may never cross the threshold of our physical church campus are Seeking God’s Future with us.
I look forward to walking the path with you to the future God wants and ultimately will have.
