theAlternative: An Emerging Experience of Worship

Welcome to theAlternative: A New Experience of Worship that premieres on our YouTube channel each Wednesday at 7pm, but the broadcast can be experienced at any time. You are welcome and wanted here and wherever you may be and however you are.

Our shared worship is casual, relaxed, and informal. We think it’s cool if you cannot stay for the entire broadcast or have to hit pause to jump to the next thing on the list. We’re just glad you’re here, and we’re with you, and that God is in our midst. Here’s what you can expect: music and singing–though it’s totally cool to make meaning in your own way if singing is not your thing; scripture; a sermon that’s a bit more free than in a more traditional setting; a prayer that engages our full body; an offering; and communion.

Worship is, itself, an alternative: an alternative to everything we have accomplished and have yet to complete…an alternative to decisions and demands, to muchness and many-ness, to business and busy-ness. In a world of constant social distancing and separation, we come together in new, alternative ways to reconnect, rejoin, and re-member. You are welcome and wanted here.
